The 2025 Club Time Trial took place on Sunday 21st September on the familiar Maidenhead H10/2 course. With several members off competing elsewhere, turnout was lower than in previous years - but those who showed up brought plenty of spirit and speed.

Although the event is traditionally road-bike only, special Chair dispensation was granted to Anthony Jones, allowing him to ride in full aero-tuned TT kit. A well-earned nod to Anthony’s stellar record representing the club at national level, including a recent runner-up finish in his age group. He described the conditions as “slow - air too cold and NNE wind unhelpful,” but still stormed home with a blistering 22:32 at 43km/h!

Back in the road-bike ranks, six riders battled it out for club honours:

Women’s Category

• 🥇 Jodie Brinson – 28:04
• 🥈 Julie Rayfield – 29:32

Men’s Category

• 🥇 Me! – 25:07 (still slightly stunned)
• 🥈 Paul Wills – 25:23 (Le Loop legend and close rival)
• Grant Thorburn – 30:28
• Charles Andrews – 30:48 (who simply rolled up and rolled out—no warm-up, just go!)

Special shoutout to Mike Edwards, who volunteered to record times the old-school way -clipboard and stopwatch - rather than relying on the occasionally temperamental Garmin recordings. Top job, Mike!
